Whos.amung.us at 360voice

I read about Whos.amung.us a moment ago, so I threw it into the footer of 360voice to see what happens. It tracks the live unique visitors to the site and puts it up as a number. You can also click the number and see the most recent and most popular pages based on unique visits. Give it a try.

Scroll to the bottom of any page on the site to see the current count of active users.

blog-getentries service change

At the request of Durera, I have added another parameter to the blog-getentries service that allows you to identify recap entries from daily entries as well as select only recaps or dailies. The new parameter is:

type (optional) 1=recaps only 0=entries only

Example (recaps only): ChangeAgent

This should give people a little more flexibility.

New Service: Gamertag-profile

I have been running this service for awhile now… and have had a few people using it for API projects… I feel comfortable with how it is performing so I am throwing it out there:

360voice.gamertag.profile
Description: Pass in a gamertag to get profile and stat information.

Arguments:
tag (required)

Sample: ChangeAgent

Use this for any applications where you want information on the gamertag, as well as some of the stats that we run. It doesn’t have all the stats… as some of them don’t perform outside of our caching which hasn’t been folded into all areas of the site… that is an ongoing process.

Back from San Diego

I, ChangeAgent, have returned from my week in San Diego. Needless to say, I am behind on about every aspect of my life! Emails are stacked up… work issues… gaming… family… 360voice enhancements… all if them are in big huge piles on the virtual desk in my brain.

So bear with me as I sort through them all and get things back on track with some 360voice enhancements. Work continues on a bunch of things big and small… hopefully we can talk about them soon!

PGR4 The Win

Filed under:

While you patiently await for some other media to be come readily available on the internet, we can tide you over with something completely different. The May issue of Official Xbox Magazine has a cover story on Project Gotham Racing 4 and how it builds on the 360 launch title. The key points to look out for is the wider selection of weather conditions from rain, snow and sleet, with the in-car view taking full advantage of the first person view with added realism.

Speaking of in-car view, they plan on sprucing that up with more “involved” animations from the driver, from a shaky cam when going at break neck speeds to pumping their fist after a victory. The game also promises a more robust selection of cars and tracks to ride them on with over 200 courses across 10 locations. The best part is that it’s only scratching the surface. Are you looking forward to accumulating Kudos this fall?

[Thanks, teknomusik]

GTAIV Trailer is Live 4 realz!

While the official page has worked for some of us here at Fanboy Towers, we have another alternative for you to check into. Xbox.com just added the HD trailer to the Game Detail page. After verifying your age you can check the quick teaser for Rockstar North’s masterpiece. Taking place in New York, we see a few of the more distinct locales found in Manhattan as well as the Statue of Liberty.

The narrator (whom we can only assume is the character you play) appears to have a Russian accent and is looking for a fresh start in the city that never sleeps. Graphically speaking, the lighting and character models look light years ahead of any previous GTA title and the score was very foreboding and somber, adding the perfect mood to the teaser. Simply put, we’re stoked. What say you, fanboys?

GTAIV trailer is (not) live!

Filed under:

Awaited by hooligans, carjackers, and murder simulation fiends everywhere, the day has finally arrived. That’s right, the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV has officially won the internets. At least, that’s what we would be saying, if the official website hadn’t instantaneously crashed the second the timer reached zero. With the positively massive hype around GTAIV, you’d think Rockstar (and Take-Two for that matter) would have the most ironclad servers on the planet. As of right now though, all attempts to load the trailer page have failed. Not to worry 360 Fanboys, we have our crack team of Xbox 360 Fanmonkeys (not to be confused with our team of Xbox 360 Fanmonkeys on crack) constantly hitting “refresh” at a furious pace. We’ve promised an entire bunch of bananas to the first one to successfully load the trailer. When it goes live, you’ll be the first to know.

But what caused this crash? Sure, it could have been the monumental traffic aimed squarely at Rockstar. Either that, or Jack Thompson snuck his way into Take-Two’s obsidian fortress with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch.
